Verity Protect

A call-screening app for older adults that blocks scam risk, lets trusted callers through, and gives families real-time oversight.

I built Verity Protect after a personal incident where my grandmother with dementia was scammed by phone. The goal was to protect older adults from fraud without making the phone harder to use. Trusted contacts connect normally, unknown callers are screened, and families or caregivers receive real-time visibility. I led the project solo over a 6-month build, with MVP completed in 4 months. I handled research, UX strategy, design system, iOS product design, frontend implementation, backend and infrastructure decisions, launch website, and go-to-market direction. I used AI tools to help translate my Figma-led vision into backend-connected product flows. Because the user base includes older adults and caregivers, I focused on clarity and accessibility: simplified paths, larger tap targets, and lower cognitive load across key actions. I also designed facility-oriented workflows for senior communities. In the first 2 months after launch, Verity reached about 300 installs, screened about 4 hours of aggregate call time, and generated 20,000 impressions in the first 2 weeks.
